The primary duties of this position will be prospecting, soliciting and selling new business in one or more of the following areas, to meet specific sales goals determined at the beginning of the company's fiscal year:

  • Commercial Lines
  • Personal Client Services
  • Life Insurance & Employee Benefits 
  • Human Capital Management

Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining relationships with customers and retaining business based on established customer service standards and best practices.

The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This person should also have strong leadership skills to effectively assist with the supervision of customer service and support staff, serving as a role model to agency staff when appropriate.


  • Exposure identification and evaluation of new and renewing business.
  • Maintenance of client and agency confidentiality based on agency privacy guidelines.
  • Maintenance of compliance with E&O prevention guidelines and customer service standards. 


  • High sales aptitude.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter, persistent and assertive, with the ability to influence and work effectively with others, including RHSB markets.
  • Should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be resourceful, able to identify and solve complex client service issues when required, utilizing available resources.
  • Must be willing to comply with RHSB professional standards including communication, physical presence and work ethic, as well as established customer service standards and best practices.
  • Must be able to work in a technology-driven environment and be proficient in Word, Excel, and any other software programs utilized by RHSB.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and supervisory skills and able to work effectively with support staff.
  • A Texas General Lines Property & Casualty license is mandatory.
  • A college degree and/or professional industry designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of insurance industry experience is preferred; or proven sales experience in another industry.
  • Must have customer sales and service aptitude.
  • Must have a home computer with high-speed internet access.
