HR Generalist

We are seeking candidates that have worked in the HR Generalist position for a minimum of three years, preferably in a sales or professional services environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.

Salary Range:  $72,500 salary based on experience, and profit sharing bonus plan

Core Job Duties:

  • Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions.
  • Develop materials for and lead new hire orientations as well as preparing termination paperwork and processing employee off-boarding activities including COBRA administration and exit interviews.
    Participate in benefit administration to include benefit enrollments and payroll administration.
  • Develop and execute all employee engagement, recognition, training, and development programs.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Supervisory responsibilities for reception and mailroom staff in coordination with COO.
  • Facilities management including supervision of ordering of office supplies.
  • Act as liaison for staff licensing and continuing education in conjunction with outside vendor.
  • Perform insurance agency compliance functions as assigned.

Qualifications: (to include):

REQUIRED: Three to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in human resources generalist role. Insurance agency, professional service, or consultative sales industry experience required.

PREFERRED: A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent. SHRM or other professional HR designation preferred.
